First I like to say, I loved my set of village dishes. I had the complete set of village Pfaltzgraff for at least 25 years. Not kidding I had a 20 place setting plus almost every piece they made and loved it. I seriously had over 200 pieces and I used it everyday. From bean pot to soup tureen, Oven to table. With lots of pressure from the family to update my dishes, last Christmas season I purchased 12 place settings of the cambria pfaltzgraff . In addition I purchased every serving piece they offered , In hopes in the future there would be more options to order other pieces. One time My husband and I had a cheese burger with no roll and as we were using our fork to cut the burger the plate cracked in half. First his did and almost immediately mine did. I thought this is really odd. Last evening we served Ice cream cake and while the cake was being served on the salad plate the plate cracked in half. Same night I was doing my dishes and one plate while soaking in hot/warm water cracked in sink. The sides of the black trim chip in dishwasher. I have to treat my dishes like eggs. I can't place them dishwasher touching one another or they come out with chipped edges. I never experienced this with my dishes of 25 years. Its so disappointing. The quality of the dishes is almost a joke. I never experienced any problems with my village set as with my new set. I can honestly say I may have had 2 or 3 chipped dishes on my set of 200 pieces or more of 25 years. I wish I never replaced them. Phaltzgrafff you should offer a full refund or recall your dishes. Someone could get hurt while cutting their food . They are not Food safe dishes. very disappointing.
