Party Max, Opa-Locka, Florida and owner, Gaston Bencaquen is a rip-off. We rented about $3,000 of equipment for an event that was going to happen in several weeks from the Party Max, Miami store. (Now out of business and operating in Opa-Locka) Within days of placing the order, the event was cancelled and we called to cancel the order. We NEVER received any rental equipment. After giving us a hard time, they finally agreed to refund the money in full. He never did. They kept giving us the run-around, telling us the check would be sent out. Finally they admitted that Gaston spent the money for his own business expenses! This was AFTER they agreed to refund the money. Therefore, they spent OUR money for their business! (Isn’t that equivalent to stealing?) We eventually had no choice but to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They never responded to the complaint. We were told that Gaston was angry that we filed the complaint – and wasn’t inclined to refund the money (or words to that effect). It is my opinion that Gaston Bencaquen (AKA Benzquen) is unscrupulous and untrustworthy. I highly recommend that you do not do business with his company or with him.
