Parts bought separately do not match and can not be used together. Carvin SherLock160 lid and SherLock160 filter base bought separately online DO NOT FIT TOGETHER..

Carvin (Canada) shows only ONE LID and ONE BASE for it's SherLock160 pool filters. But, you may be shipped parts that will NOT work together. It seems now that Carvin must be buying the parts from more than one source and THEY ARE NOT COMPATIBLE even though they claim to be the same part numbers. The base that we received, has a .300 extra step at the top that the lid can not pass over. It is obviously made different than previous SherLock160 bases. Carvin claims that this is our fault for having bought the two parts separately and they offer no solution. User's recommendation: Do not trust Carvin SherLock parts to be interchangeable. They are NOT.
