Update by user Mar 16, 2018 I forgot to add to the original review that I'm still within my 30 day trial period. Money back guarantee, and what not. So, I'm confused. If I have a 30 day trial period, and would have scratched off and activated these services (which they did suggest that I activate, on several occasions), what then? Would I still have to return the box/code? Or would I have just received my refund via electronic methods? Makes no sense to me that I would have to pay to return the box/code. That part seems shady to me. Original review posted by user Mar 16, 2018 VERY Disappointed in the customer service that I have received through Rosetta Stone. Pressured into purchasing a package on the phone with a rep that LIED To me. Took my order and told me I'd receive the discs along with my 24mo online learning and could start right away, via email w/ activation code, while I waited for my discs to arrive a few days afterwards. I was VERY clear about wanting the hard copy discs in my bundle. I received ONE email, receipt of purchase. Days passed, no activation code email. Still waited to start. About four or five days later, received a small, over-sized box. Had a small plastic "tag" in it with my serial number and activation code (which was under a gray strip I'd have to scratch off). I DID NOT scratch off code, because I was looking to possibly have to request a refund before even starting! Contacted chat support online, the other day. Was told that, according to their records, I had ordered the 24mo online learning package, with a download software for program. Um, no. I was very clear in what I wanted AND as I was placing my order, the lady was very clear that I'd receive each individual item that I had requested. Including DISCS. This was confirmed several times. Otherwise, I would have NOT ordered. Fast forward to yesterday. Called customer support. Spoke with "Nabin". He informed me that Rosetta stone was NO LONGER MAKING/SELLING the Discs in their packages. Um, so why did the sales rep say I would receive them? Does the sales team not know what their company offers? The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing here. I was upset and informed them that when I pay for a service/product and have it confirmed of what I'm order, I expect to receive my items. All of them. He states that they do not sell them anymore but that he'd speak with a dept that had already left for the day (how convenient, right?). But that he'll have the discs shipped as a courtesy, after he speaks with the dept that does the shipments. He states he'll call me today between 2:30pm EST and 3pm EST to confirm the shipment. 3pm Today, rolls around and here I sat. So, I called in to customer service again. Obviously, I end up speaking with yet another person. Woman by the name of "Samina"? She states the same as the other two customer service reps before her. "This is what you ordered. This is how to use it." I tell her the same thing that I had said to the previous two reps. "No, this is what I wanted. This is what I ordered/paid for. This is what I was told would be done for me, yesterday, by another rep. Just want to see how to get my discs shipped out to me. As was stated would happen." She then tells me there's nothing she can do, and they will not be shipping them out. I tell her, then I am requesting a refund. How can I go through WALMART.COM or AMAZON.COM and receive the bundles that include these discs, but the company itself doesn't have the power to send me what I ordered? What they sold me on. These lines are recorded. Go ahead, check back through my original contact with the sales rep. I've now been lied to by TWO Rosetta Stone employees. The sales rep, and the customer service rep that informed me he'd be able to send the discs to me as a courtesy. NOW I'm being told that I have to pay, out of my own pocket-non refundable, to have this over-sized box shipped back to Rosetta stone (the code, that I never activated. Can't ship that small tag in a simple envelope either-I already asked). She then tells me, once they receive that box, I will have 7-10 business days before I'll receive my refund. So, I'm looking at WEEKS before I can even receive my money back, so that I can turn around and use it to purchase the program from Walmart or Amazon. Insanity. How does this company come so highly recommended, but cannot stand behind what they're selling to their customers? I'm livid. And considering simply going with some of the other companies that have been claimed to be a much better program in second language learning. Very disappointed and shame on Rosetta Stone for how they lie and treat their customers.
