Online course completed — no certificate

1

I signed up for an online grant proposal writing course from the University of Notre Dame. Paid $1, 980 in three monthly payments of $660. No problems until the very end when, after taking all four required exams and passing with a 95 percent average (93, 100, 87, 100), I am contacted by a representative about "retaking the course" (for an additional fee, of course). I am then told that I did not pass the course. WTF? No explanation why -- just an offer to take the class again at a reduced price (nice of them, huh?). This is a big deal because I need to have my certificate in order to get reimbursed by my employer. Meanwhile, I try to log back on and can't access anything from the class. All of a sudden all of my records are gone -- no trace of me ever taking the class. Fortunately I do have a transcript that I printed out when I passed the final test. Otherwise it would be my word against theirs. I'm disappointed because it was a good class. It was fairly challenging and I had to work hard, but I learned a lot and was actually quite impressed with everything. If I had just gotten the certificate that I rightfully earned I would have become an advocate for the company and probably would have taken more courses. Unfortunately, I was ripped off. There are dozens of complaints on here about these guys and I guess I should have heeded them. I just figured it was disgruntled people who didn't like the course or didn't do what they were supposed to do and were upset by the consequences. That's not the case with me. I viewed all of the lectures, studied hard and passed all of the required exams. I just want the certificate that I earned. So there you have it ... If you are thinking about taking a class with this company and wondering if all of the complaints are valid, I can't vouch for the others but I'm telling you mine is exactly as I have described. Like I said -- good class, easy-to-use academic portal and good customer service until the very end. Then this. I'm very sad.
