Not their job, apparently

The actual inspection seemed to go well and we were initially pleased. That being said, we've now been in our home for a few months and there have been at least three things that they should have caught. There was an electrical issue, a roofing issue, and a plumbing issue and they did not say anything about any of them. When I reached out to express my frustration, I was told it's not their job to find everything and that's part of the risk of buying a home. While I wouldn't expect perfection on small things it seems strange for them to miss all of this if they'd been thorough and knowledgeable. We put our faith into their expertise and it seems to have been a waste of money.
