Booking reference: JWLCWS Flight number: Departure airport: Islamabad International Airport, ISB Scheduled departure time: Sat 22/12/18 9:30 Arrival airport: Madinah International Airport, MED Number of passengers: 5 Other passenger names: Memoona Khalid, Muhammad Aslam, Shehreyar Shahzad, Iman Shahzad Based on the above details, I am seeking the fixed compensation as specified in EC 261/2004. I booked 5 tickets for travel to Madinah from Islamabad. Booking was done online on 13/10/18. Airline sent me E-tickets via email. When I visited Airline office on Islamabad airport on 21/12/18 to check possibility of early check in, Airline informed me that flight was cancelled 2 months ago as they are no more operating flights to Madinah. They said they tried to contact me on my mobile. They never sent me email or a text to inform the flight cancellation. They could not show me any evidence that they tried to inform me about flight cancellation. They offered to take a flight to Jeddah on 25/12/18 which was no good for me as I have non-refundable hotel reservation in Madinah for 5 guests. I then had to take another flight (Etihad Airline) on 23/12/18. and have to pay £1600 for 5 tickets. The fare difference was £700. I also lost one day of our trip and one night rent for two rooms. £400. This resulted in huge economic loss, stress and emotional trauma for the whole family. Airline has not given me any compensation. They are only taking responsibilty of full refund of ticket fares and even that has not been received yet. Airline did not make any reasonable efforts to inform me about cancellation of the flight and this costed me loss of £1100 and one day of the trip. I look forward to a full response to this letter within 14 days. If I do not receive a satisfactory response I intend to pursue my complaint further, which could mean taking it to court.
