I asked adelaide budget retaing wall to quote on a retaining wall and explained in depth my needs, this included a flat slab to store 6 mobile coolrooms with a slight fall to the centre.rod carr the owner of abrw assured me he understood my needs and sent me a quote which I did not query at all including the price. I had to chase rod carr to give him a $1200 deposit, that payment was made and after a period of time the building of the wall begun. half way through the job rod carr told me that he would have to lift the sleepers 40mm up out of the top of the i beams I didnt understand his reason for this but he continued with the job.They completed the wall then rod carr came to me and said that i must drop my concrete slab by 75mm. At this stage something seemed amiss . but I still wasnt sure. when the fence contractor turned up I asked him about the hieght of the retaining wall and he assured me the hieght was fine so he built the fence on top.i became very worried about the height of the wall so i rang a builder and he set up a laser level only to find that the wall was approx 200mm lower than the existing slab height .when I asked rod carr about this he became very hostile refused to negotiate gave me the bill and said pay it thats what ur getting.I have since employed the services of two independent building inspectors who have found many faults with the the wall, including the hieght, spacing of ibeams which means that when backfilled the sleepers will definitely fall out the back of the wall.Also when the sleepers where lifted 40mm they are no longer into solid ground and can see daylight under the wall.the sleepers have been packed with various materials including bits of fibro board, small bits of ibeam not secured to anything.This means that in the future the wall will allmost definitly drop.I am now being sued by adelaide budget retain walls and the job has been at a standstill for months.if anybody would like to view this disgraceful excuse for a retaining wall please call me on0417871308 damian reyne deborah rd aberfoyle park.
