No returns on defective products

1

I emailed Games Workshop asking for replacement parts on a mis-cast (i.e. defective) product and they told me that because I didn't have the receipt they wouldn't replace the part. You can see the damage in the photo and the product 'White Lion Chariot' is available on their website. I can't see why you would ever give their products as gifts when you can't be sure of the quality and there isn't the expectation they will replace defective merchandise (unless you gift the receipt too). The customer service (which I had good experience with several years ago) has clearly changed and they stopped replying after I pointed out there is no mention of needing a receipt and they are obliged under the NZ Consumer Guarantees Act to replace faulty products. Pretty sure an expensive high-quality cast model which has been mis-cast counts as faulty.
