Nickle and dime members to death!

Received a letter from GTE today. "Change in Terms Notice". "In July 10, 2018 your checking accnt will become Go Premium with GTE Secure checking and a $4.95 monthly cost will apply". The letter tells you about all the "extra benefits" you'll get. NO ACTION NEEDED. So, without my consent, they decided to put me in that Go Premium accnt. What they don't tell you is that this is because they are doing away with free checking! I ended up calling them and after a lot of probing questions they finally stated that fact. I've been with GTE since 1997. Since the name change from credit union to "financial" it has been a downward spiral. Now they have "ATM-looking" teller stations, where the tellers are remote somewhere else and you have to deal with the terminal, monitor and 2 way communication with the virtual teller. Shame on you for trying to nickle and dime your members. Time to move on to an institution that cares for their members. Should be called GTE Bank with all their fees and lack of concern for their "members" Adios GTE!!
