Never provided estimate, refused to fully pay for car rental

Filed a claim with a second party insurance (American Southwest Insurance Managers) since their client hit my car. I had to rent a car because the mechanic said that there is frame damage to car making it unsafe to drive. The car stayed at the mechanic while I drove a rental car. The problem is, the insurance company, never came back to me (or the mechanic) after they evaluated the car despite my numerous attempts at contacting them. When I finally got hold of them, I accepted their repair offer without even seeing the details of their estimate, the amount sounded about right. I had the repairs done, and as requested, sent them the car rental receipt. After more than a month of attempt to contact them, they finally decided that they will cover only 10 of the 26 day rental. The length of the rental was due to only their failure to provide us with car repair estimate. They did not contact me or answer/return my calls. Most of these are documented since they were made with my insurance. I tried contacting everyone I can at the company. They keep repeating that according to their estimate (that no one have seen until after the repairs were done) the car was drivable. They essentially wanted me to drive the car against the advice of the mechanic while it is still damaged.
