I have a friend who I wouldn’t consider a friend who forcefully and verbally going to RAC to get three phones. Basically said if you don’t go then I’m going to get you fired, etc. He also forces me to get money out of my account to send him, etc. He made the payments for about the first two months and then has refused and the second we got out of the store — he took the phones and is refusing to give them back. I've got text messages from him saying: "Give me $200 or I'm going to go crazy. You're lies that what's happening or RAC IS NOT getting paid" "Let me know if RAC calls. Call their corporate office at 10 a.m. when they open." "No they're not getting returned," He has made me lie to all the RAC folks and now they’re coming by my house and sent certified letters. This “friend” also did the same thing to himself and has never returned merchandise, etc. Now I got a certified letter on Saturday saying that I had 5 days to return the merchandise. The letter was dated 10/17 and said I had until 10/22 to return it and they mailed it out 10/24 and I received it 10/26. I’m facing major surgery Thursday and don’t know what to do. I don’t have the phones and do not have the money to pay them. I’ve attached text messages. Should I just go down to RAC and explain?
