My husband received a message from Nextdoor, It claimed to include a message from me, encouraging him to join Nextdoor, This was entirely a lie. I neither wrote nor authorised that message.

Claiming endorsements falsely is a deceitful way to behave. As this message was presumably distributed quite widely, it misrepresented me to an unknown number of people. I strongly resent and object to it. I had just applied to join Nextdoor, in order to find out about it. That did not mean that I endorsed it unreservedly. One may choose to visit a restaurant but one cannot endorse it until one has tried the food and the service. User's recommendation: Pause, think carefully before committing to an organisation that is so careless about its promotional honesty and integrity.
