I have a concrete retaining wall in my backyard that stands about 5 feet high and stretches the length of my yard. Last Thursday the wall came crashing down at 10pm. The wall crushed all my pool equipment, hammock and damaged a significant number of tiles. I filed my claim the same evening with AAA. They ended up denying the claim saying "earth movement" isn't covered. And neither is anything the wall smashed. I've been with them over 20 years and have never filed an insurance claim. Seriously? I'm floored this isn't covered. We had a lot of rain and assume that had something to do with it. In addition to denying the claim, the customer service lacked. I'm a single female and have my elderly mother in law living with me. The wall fell on a water line and I had to shut off all water. We were without running water for 36 hours. I finally got in touch with the appraiser who said I could hire plumber to cap the line to the backyard so I could have running water in the house. AAA says they'll be there for you every step of the way, but that is a lie! I've been at a loss on what to do, and expecting they'd have my back and walk me through the process was an unrealized expectation.
