My experience today.

I lived in Asheville where I was introduced to Mellow mushroom (MM) and enjoyed all of my Mello Mushroom experiences. I was overjoyed to find that they were finally bringing a MM close to the area I now reside, Yeah! Please understand that I have worked in customer service and I realize training is a process but I there is more work to be done at this location. I witnessed good service between the manager, and the person (of a different ethnicity) in front of me and looked forward to my service. I walked up with a bit excitement, a smile and hearty greeting. First, the manager walked away. Then the rep told me the price of my sandwich which was quite more than I expected. I inquired about the price and was told there was a $1.80 for shredded lettuce AND $1.80 for the sliced tomato, REALLY? Why was I not told that when ordering? Well, I handed the rep my card and upon its return, instead of placing the card back in my hand, she puts it on the counter (my pet peeve). Because there was no eye contact she had no idea how I felt. Actually during this transaction, there was no eye contact and no smile during the whole 5 minutes. Honestly, I left feeling like there was no appreciation for my choosing Mellow Mushroom today. As time passes, I truly hope things change.
