I purchased my carpet and padding from Home Depot and Romanoff Renovations is their installer. As soon as the workers got there to install the carpet they started "fanning out" through our home. It made my husband very wary so he called me to come home from work. When we purchased our carpet from Home Depot they stated that the installers would tear out and remove the old carpet and move the furniture. We removed all of the old carpet and took it to the dump ourselves. We also moved 75% of the furniture into our detached garage along with all of the electronics, and vacuumed all rooms. We put some items in moving boxes with the lids up so they could easily be pulled into another area when installing the carpet. They told my husband that they were not going to put down the transition plates and that they would not touch one box because it was not in their contract. I told them that we did most of the work and I did not understand why they would not move the boxes. The only installer that could speak english said "it would take too much time and they were not paid to move anything but carpet and furniture". I will spare you the details of my reply to that installer. DO NOT EVER GET YOUR CARPET FROM THE HOME DEPOT AND ESPECIALLY NEVER USE ROMANOFF RENOVATIONS!
