I rented a car at Fort Lauderdale International airport on May 5 for one week. Had booked this a few weeks earlier with 100% advance payment. Had a series of issues: 1. Even while I had paid for 3rd party insurance at the time of booking they told me that it is not included and made that entry on the contract. I was left driving with a fear that in case if I had an issue I'll be in trouble. 2. I had paid for an additional driver & all taxes upfront at the time of booking. At the time of taking the car they made me pay that again. However, later on, i.e. after returning the car they acknowledged and refunded this amount. 3. Two weeks later they charged additional $200 on my card, claiming $25 in tolls (toll by plate) and $175 as convenience fee. First time in my life after driving for 35 years I have paid $175 as convenience fee for tolls for a car for which the rental fee was worth $225.
