misleading activity by dtdc courier service

Dear mr subhasish chakraborty I am one of your unfortunate customers who have taken service from your courier. I am presently staying at bangalore and working in a r&d section of a company. I want to take one tanpura from haldia wb to bangalore. I didn’t have any idea how to do that? I thought it is not possible by a courier service. I talked to your haldia dtdc office (later I came to know that is a franchises office) and they arranged everything for me. As I didn’t know anybody there they arrange packaging by their own person who charged me enough for that (rs.1500). They also assured me that the packaging is safe and secure. They also arranged to courier it to my bangalore address with a charge of rs.2000, the docket number of that consignment is “d01200122”. I came to bangalore after the vacation and received the tanpura in broken condition. I have raised the claim on to the delivery boys and later it was forwarded to the bangalore and kolkata office. The bangalore office denying the claim with a valid reason that the packaging is not done by dtdc. But I have intimated them that the packaging is done by them only at haldia. The story went to a long way and the hadia office accept their fault and ready to bear 50% of the cost of the tanpura (rs.2500). They communicate it through email to me copy to dtdc kolkata and bangalore. They asked for few documents and I have provided those and send then through dtdc courier expecting to make up some of my losses. I have called the haldia dtdc to get after a long waiting and update about the claim. Their behavior way below my expectation and they though I am a residence of haldia township and can’t do anything if they not settle the due. I have communicated everything at bangalore dtdc through email. I have contacted mohanraj ([protected]@dtdc.com) at bangalore office for all complaints and settlement of the damage. Now your office informs me to settle this claim with a nominal compensation of rs.500. It is according of 11 to 13 printed on your bill. As I get to know you are a pioneer of the cornier service in india. You are also alumni member of my university. I never expect this type of unethical business practice from your company. I expect a reply from you if you have faced this type of situation what will be your reaction? Thanks, Soumen
