Met life claims that two payments on our checking account have been “returned unpaid”

In June of 2020 I noticed that a payment to MetLife on our checking account had not been processed through our bank. I called MetLife and was told the payment had been returned. I knew that there had been plenty of money in the bank, so I called my bank and went through every transaction during the week surrounding the problem payment. My bank said nothing had been returned or dishonored. That was consistent with my online bank statement which showed that there was sufficient money in the bank and that nothing had been dishonored. I hadnt kept a receipt for that problem payment, though, so I hadnt been sure whether Id paid with an ATM card (with a Visa logo) or with my bank routing and account numbers. I got no satisfaction from MetLife and made the payment again with an ATM card. Then I made a payment on August 1, 2020 which covered the balance of the policy through the end of the year. But this time I kept a receipt showing Id paid via my checking account. Well, Id been keeping track of this payment and hadnt seen it processed yet, so I called MetLife again. Sure enough. The payment was dishonored, according to MetLife Well, we had plenty of money to the cover the payment 30 times over! But MetLife couldnt explain adequately what happened. The website is a mess. It doesnt seem to let you view previous payments so you have to call and wait on the phone to check things out. The website is clunky and buggy. It just doesnt work. Its time to go to Geico, I think! Wed had combo policies with MetLife for 12 years, most of the time with no problems. MetLife-whats going on?? User's recommendation: Avoid MetLife Insursnce. There’s something going on with them and it isn’t good!
