I am a diverticulitis patient and can only eat softer Lettuce, like romaine. I ordered a blackened shrimp Cesar salad. It was delicious, correct toppings, but I was taken back when the waiter asked what dressing I wanted. I said, it's Cesar salad, Cesar dressing. The shrimp was very good, but the big chunks of Iceberg Lettuce, with the harder crunchy center sections was not what belongs in a Cesar salad. I was too tired and hungry after a busy day, so I ate what salad I could and really chewed it up. Hard crunchy anything causes pain. Why not advertise a blackened shrimp salad instead of it being a blackened Cesar salad? Either a total lie in the menu or a waiter who took it upon himself to change what the menu states and give me, not a Cesar salad, I don't know? Either way, again being a diverticulitis sufferer, I probably won't be back to Applebee anytime soon. What else is not what the menu states? You list a Cesar salad, it should be just a Cesar salad, not what dressing would you like? I'm thinking it's the waiter who changed what type of salad to use. I could have denied the order, but I didn't at first notice that Iceberg Lettice was the whole salad. The location was, Little Rd, New Port Richey, Fl at about 10:30pm on 7/25/2020. Server Roman.
