I used to work at Barnes and Noble and it was awful. They expect cashiers being paid minimum wage to aggressively sell memberships. I had a manager say she would step in front of traffic if we didn't sell enough memberships. They would expect us to keep trying to sell if a customer said no at first. It was absolutely ridiculous. I've talked to people who hate going to Barnes and Noble because they are so aggressive about memberships. User's recommendation: Don’t go here.
