Managers lie all the time but call it a “take-away” close

Managers lie, lie and lie some more. My manager tells recruits that the company only needs 1 or maybe 2 people when the truth is they will hire anybody who is breathing. When I point out to a co-worker that the manager just lied they treat me like I'm the bad guy. And they wonder why "the system that never fails" has a turnover rate of >95% in sales. If that was the turnover rate in any other department they'd be out of business in a month. They tout that their sales system is the greatest on the planet yet they are the only company using it. Wonder how Microsoft and every other company got so big without it? It's all cult-like nonsense. They constantly compare sales people against each other and simply can't understand why everybody isn't selling like the top 1%. They are living in the missionary sales world of the 1950's. They've never heard of the Pareto Principle. They don't understand that we now have this thing called advertising. Their line is that because they don't advertise their costs are lower so they browbeat people for referrals. It's nonsense. Their cost of sales is through the roof when there are plenty of better current sales methods available. They have a new incentive every week and constant motivational promotions and activities but they've never heard of burnout and work-life-reality balance. Obviously a few succeed massively but the most successful don't do it the company way by prospecting new businesses every day. They find a niche, maybe a labor union, so they sign up every new member, a steady stream of people that willingly get policies without being "persuaded" or cajoled. Sadly the policies are good and the company pays legit claims although they make plenty of mistakes in processing claims and not paying when they should. Agents constantly have to fight battles to get some clients paid. Areas where they can improve are huge but all management is drunk on the Clem Stone kool-aid.
