LP Tank bracket problems

1

We bought our scamp 2 years ago and took it on a North Carolina to Florida camping trip. We decided to have the dual propane tanks installed when we ordered the trailer. Prior to leaving on the trip I did the pre-trip check. Lug nuts tight, lights work, and propane bracket tight. Half way through the trip I realized that the propane tanks were loose and I found that the long bolt that holds the bracket was bent. The wing nut was still tight but because the bolt was bent the tanks' flanges were bending. I bought a heavy duty tie down strap to get us home. I decided to switch from dual to single tanks and ordered the parts from Scamp. The parts are 2 metal straps and a single regulator. The straps hook to the flanges on the tanks and bolt to the angle iron under where the tank sits. There were no instructions in the package. I figured it out. When I changed the dual regulator to the single regulator the supply hose to the tank was too short to mount the regulator on the tongue. I called Scamp and after explaining how I had mounted the tank the person there said it should fit. It doesn't . Instead, I used 2 stainless steel hose clamps to clamp the regulator to the post where the front trailer jack is. User's recommendation: Do some homework before you buy a Scamp. You can probably get a better trailer for less.
