Low price on phone turns into a high one

I wanted to purchaes a phone for $299.99 but couldn't pay it all at once. It said payments as low as $14.00. I plannned on paying it off in a few weeks. In reading the paperwork the payment was $45.00 for 15 months! That's not $299.99! Now to pay it off early I have to pay a fee so the total is $356.99. If I make all 15 payments I would pay almost $700 dollars...what a rip off!
