Losing a bit of magic at every visit: Disneyworld Florida

Dr. Mammano Dr. Kaye 1717 54th street Brooklyn, New York 11204 917833**** DrMammano@***.com ________________________________________ 3/12/2019 “Losing a little bit of magic at each visit at Disney World, Florida ” To whom it may concern:Over the last 18 months, my family (5 members) either together or individually have visited Disney World over 10 times. We have been patrons for over 20 years. I am very sorry to report that each visit has met with disappointing incidents. Our trip In September 2018, met with a filthy hotel experience (All Sport Hotel), with multiple guests in some of the rooms (above the maximum requirements) with one family cooking in a George Foremen a Grill. The Very Scary Halloween Party seemed over sold, making the experience a less than pleasurable one. They ran out of candy on some of the routes and there were not many people to assist visitors. I go almost every year to the Halloween Party, this time it was awful: all five of us travel together. We did not report this incident because, we felt it was a onetime glitch. Increasing the rate for the tickets for the special events or entrance fee should result in a better Disney experience, not a worse one.Our stay in July 2018 was at the Four Seasons, no incident at the hotel, however, some of our fastpasses did not work and so we had to go to guest services and set new ones: an annoyance. We returned to Disney World in the beginning of November 2018 for a long weekend. We stayed at the Swan Hotel. We requested that all down be removed from the room as I am severely allergic to it and can go into anaphylactic shock. We arrived in our room and there were down pillows. My son had to remove them from the room and they were put in the hallway. Housekeeping was lovely and noted that no down was on my reservation and they apologized. Not a good way to start my vacation on Benadryl and a round of steroids. There were other very minor glitches .e.g. Winnie the Pooh having mud on his knees and the rug area of Baymax was filthy and stained (I have pictures of both). This is not just an amusement part. It’s a magical place created by a genus who wanted to spread happiness and joy: not over crowdedness, stress and filth. On November 13 2018, we returned to Disney for a week stay for the DVR pin Convention. Two of my children are annual pass holder as they frequent the part 8-10 times a year. They stayed for at the Port Orleans Riverside. We arrived at the hotel on November 13 at 9:00 am. Our luggage was taken and stored and we went into the park as out room was understandably not ready. However when we arrived back to our hotel at 11:00 pm, they could not locate our luggage. They informed us that they had only one van that transported the luggage. We waiting up until 1:15 am before out luggage arrived to our room. This is just unacceptable. This latest visit was just over the top. Jennifer Kaye, Michael Kaye are season pass holders. The came down with my niece Selena Cuevas. We stayed at stayed at the Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort in February, 2019. At first, she was supposed to get a refurbished room because of her asthma. They moved her into a room that was filled with bugs and flies. When she went to the front desk to inform them of this, it was acknowledged, as they were aware of this. This was followed by sarcasm stating “this was the only room they had as they were booked “and that “she didn’t expect them to upgrade her to a better room without her paying the difference.” With her frustration, humiliation and health in mind, she called us and I instructed her to speak to a manager and tell them that they would be happy to sleep in the lobby with her suitcase next to her until a bug free room was available.” She was not sleeping in a bug-infested room. If need be, I would have my attorney contact the hotel. They moved her to animal kingdom. I am writing this letter as you need to see how this magical place has become quite unmagical . It has become a very over crowded dirty place. It really breaks my heart to see it so deteriorated. My first visit to Disney World was in 1976 and I have visited there every year or two since then, bringing my family as it has expanded. We were thinking of buying into the Disney Club, which is why we have visited there so frequently in the last two to three years, but this downhill slide really had turned us off. I hope you take my concerns seriously. There is no room for filth and staff rudeness in such a magical place. Overselling tickets is not good for anyone, but mostly because is removes the magic that needs to be preserved at all costs. I am sure Walt would agree… We hope our next trip there will be more magical. Thanking you in advance. Dr. Vicki A.
