Lifetime warranty is useless

1

I bought a Lane recliner in 2006. The manual that came with it said there was a "lifetime warranty on extendable footrest feature". Well, now in 2019 the extended footrest feature broke on one side and the footrest sets a a 45 degree angle on one side. In addition, the recliner is now very difficult to bring to a sitting position from a recline. Upon inspection, I found one of the numerous connected levers that make the footrest extend broke in half. I called Lane Warranty and Parts Department. A recording came on that said if you purchased your recliner before 2011, we have no parts and no records! They suggested I look on Amazon or Ebay for parts. All they have are are springs for the most part. I left a message and asked a supervisor to call me. Nothing. I called two days later and was on hold "position 1 in the Que" for over an hour. I was disconnected at close of business hour. Called again the next day. Was "position one in the Que" again for over half an hour. Lane lifetime warranties are worthless. The least they could have done was offer me some compensation toward a new recliner. Of course that would have required actually speaking to a live person.
