Bad solder/leak on the evaporator coil, less than a month after purchase of a new Trane XR14 residential central A/C unit. The dealer/installer replaced the coil the next day, and guess what? The replacement coil also leaked (immediately upon installation, this time). We're installing a second replacement now, but I'd say Trane has a pretty large Quality Control problem. Given the cost of a Trane and their assertions of reliability, this is just alarming. Their warranty policy is OK, but Trane does not cover service/labor, so we rely on the installer's service policy for that.
