Key Blank theft during fob programming

2

I lost both key fobs to my 2016 Subaru Crosstrek. The dealer, Matt Slap, Newark, Delaware instructed me to order new keyfobs from parts which I did. Then I was instructed to have the vehicle towed in and turned in my new keyfobs with keyblanks for programing. The keyfobs returned from programming minus the keyblanks. I was told this was a separate part although I bought and paid for two keyfobs delivered to me with keyblanks. The online price for genuine Subaru keyfob keyblanks is $33.71 plus shipping $14.99. It's less to do with price than it is being sneaky and cheap. I ordered a keyblank and will have a locksmith grind it. At the very least you can't attach the keyfob to a Keychain without the blanks. Paul C. User's recommendation: Keep your keyblanks while your keyfob is programmed!
