July 2019. Have had my iPhone 7 just over 2 years. Have taken very good care of it. One day it just started having start up problems and the microphone and speakers stopped working right. Apple said too bad for me... it was a hardware issue and they couldn't help. But I could spend a bunch to buy a new one. Phone is out of warranty. But, as I research this, it appears that I am having a similar problem to other iPhone 7 owners. Reportedly, Apple was fixing these for awhile then abruptly stopped. Also, there are class action lawsuits against Apple for this problem. So, they appear to have knowledge of this defect and refuse to fix it.
