Insultingly terrible customer support

Unbelievably awful customer service. I really think their business model is to wear customers down with empty promises, long wait times, nonexistent follow through, unintelligible accents and DGAF attitude until we go away defeated, rather than spend money on competent, motivated professionals who could help us. Case in point: we sent a corrupted file in for repair (the story behind that was another ordeal), didn't get any feedback on progress after 4 days so tried to accept their written invitation to call for a status update. Four separate attempts featuring the same shtick: insist that I describe the problem (which was settled weeks ago, that's why the file was sent in for repair, and it's in their notes anyway), endless typing while not telling me anything, then transferring me to someone else not in the repair department, who wastes my time all over again before promising me a callback from the repair department that never comes. I could fill pages with similar complaints going back several years, but I want my life back. Do NOT pay for a service plan—if you must, light your money on fire instead. It will be a better use of it.
