Installed Wrong Type of Tires On Van
*SOLVED

5

We were visiting Vermont when we realized we needed two new front tires on our 2008 Sprinter Van (3/4 ton). Champlain Valley Auto said they could install the tires that day, They sold us two Michelin P245/75/16 Latitude Tour tires and mounted and balanced them. When we returned to our home in Olympia, WA area we decided to put two new Michelin tires on the rear wheels to match the two new front tires. The local tire busness said they would not do it because the tires we bought in Vermont were 4-ply passenger tires and were unsafe to be on our vehicle. They said we needed 10-ply tires on our van. When contacted Champlain Valley Auto insisted they put the correct tires on our van. However, when I contacted Michelin Customer Service they agreed that Champlain Valley Auto installed the wrong tires on my van. Champlain Valley Auto refuses to refund any or part of the purchase, they say it's a Michelin warranty problem, not theirs.
