Inadequate and Neglient Service

1

Update by user Apr 30, 2020 It was also discovered that the screens that Orkin installed in the crawlspace were poorly attached. The employees often used two screws instead of four. The attached pictures show that carelessness. Original review posted by user Apr 30, 2020 My family and I were vastly impacted by the Easter Sunday tornadoes in Tennessee and we were without power for about a week. While cleaning up the fallen trees and branches in our backyard the following day after the storms, we noticed a baby possum watching us from the crawlspace. After multiple failed attempts to naturally get rid of the possums, we called Orkin Pest Control Services for a consultation. The inspector came out and exaggerated the entire process. However, he did promise that all rodents would be removed and the crawlspace would disinfected to reduce the chances of other rodents invading too. We would be expected to pay $2,728.00 within 90 days. When the crew did come out to start the work on April 23, 2020, they had to physically remove the rodents, which was loud, and extremely inconvenient due to my having to work from home in light of the stay-at-home order placed on my state and my company has everyone working from home. This was a red flag because initially, the inspector described the process as if a gas would be released to “rid of everything in the crawlspace and walls” before the space was disinfected and repaired. However, that was not the case. A day later, my mother stated that she is still hearing a critter moving around in her bedroom wall, the bathroom wall/floor, and my brother’s bedroom wall as well. Later that day, we had to report to Orkin Customer Service after we all heard a large “thud” from underneath the house that rattled the windows in the front of the house! This was a clear indication that there was still a critter left behind and it tried to run through the new metal gate that Orkin had previously installed. Since that night, we have called Orkin several times and they have made several trips for nothing! The original inspector came back out and stated that it was a Norway rat in the walls and it was hiding from the 5 possums that were removed. They keep pretending as if they cannot find the critter and keep making excuses about not doing the job that they are being paid to do! They have placed cages and bait boxes, but do not monitor or adjust them as needed. The supervisor has a nasty attitude and does not want to help us in anyway. The technicians are lazy, inconsiderate and have not made strong efforts to locate and capture the critter for removal. The critter or possibly critters are extremely active, and we have not slept in weeks due to the noises they make nightly. Orkin has neglected to provide us with efficient and acceptable service during this quarantine, yet they will be quick to throw our balance to collections if we do not pay. This is completely unacceptable that Orkin expects us to live with rodents in our walls, ceilings, and crawlspace due to their negligence and lack of care, and still expect full payment for their lackluster service. If you are in Tennessee or the tri-state area, think twice before using their services. #downwithorkin User's recommendation: Find a more experience service provider that honors their contractual obligations and promises.
