I needed to get a same day loan because we had agreed to match what my son had saved to help him get his first car. He found a car very quickly that was a good deal unfortunately I didn't have enough cash saved to put with his that is where western sky came in. Against my better judgement and all the warning bells going off in my head I went through with it. Cash call contacted me before the loan was complete and told me they were processing my loan not western sky. I was approved for $1500 but only received $1000 because they took $500 off the top for "fees and processing". I have made 7 payments but still owe more than what I borrowed. This was confirmed when I contacted them in december. I didn't realize how excessive the interest rate was until speaking with them in december. They try to make themselves feel better by telling customers the quicker you pay the loan off the better you will be. That is a no brainer. After speaking with them in december I contacted the consumer protection office of the north carolina attorney general's office. I filed a formal complaint with them. I was contacted by a representative from their office and informed that the nc attorney general along with several other states had filed a lawsuit against john p reddam,, delbert services, cash call and western sky.in doing more research I found that western sky had been closed down by their state and were being investigated. They were shut down in september. The office of the attorney general advised me the loans made by the previously mentioned companies were illegal in our state. Because they were illegal I was only obligated to pay back what I had received which I have already done. I was to notify them in writing not to withdraw anymore funds from my account which I did. I put a stop payment on my account as well the same day but because it took a couple of days to process the stop payment they went into my account and took the payment out. Even after they did that people were calling me about my january payment so I got ugly with them. On tuesday I will be mailing certified letters to john p reddam the director of delbert services and president of cash call demanding return of the excess payments as well as furnishing a copy of the letter to the state attorney general's office. I was reading the statute for recording phone calls in the state of nc and if I read correctly because the business is not licensed to do business here and do not have an office here they cannot give permission to record phone calls. I didn't give my permission to record our phone calls however they still did it. Someone has to give permission, I didn't and they couldn't. If you are having problems with these companies contact your state attorney general for help. They may have already filed suit against them or may be in the process of it. If the companies report negatively to the credit bureau you can dispute it and will have all the evidence you need for the dispute.
