Ill and in hospital for 4 months and sent to collection

Recently I was in the hospital for a health problem that is ongoing. In the interim, my account with Frontpoint went into overdue and then collections - it was over a 4 month period of time near as I can tell. At any rate, called yesterday and today to see what could be done to rectify situation. 1. No representatives could tell me where my account was in collections 2. I only called to pay my bill or to get the number to the collection agency so I could clear the account as it was never my intention for it to go to collection to begin with. 3. I spoke with three different people, Stephen and Nakia today and some other female yesterday who all stated that the account would need to go further into arrears before the collection agency would contact me. Stephen also advised me I no longer had any relationship with Frontpoint and that no one there knows who the collections people are. This has to be a lie. 4. Stephen also gave me the idea that Frontpoint has no interest in dealing with people who have been ill or have had issues and no longer want my business. He confirmed that even after I bring the account current I no longer have any relationship with Frontpoint. 5. I feel quite defeated, while yes it is my fault the account is past due it was not intentional and I was in the hospital ill. I will pay the final bill with this dreadful, heartless company and move on to a more reliable, reasonably priced company that can provide much better customer service and a much better, helpful attitude. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FRONTPOINT TO ANYONE as they are only interested in collecting their money and do not care about the situations of people that they cover. DO NOT get involved with them. I had issues setting up with them several years ago and $99 turned into several hundred dollars before the set up was complete. That was my first mistake. I will not recommend this awful company to anyone. Do your due diligence. Find a company with good customer service and reasonable collections practices.
