If you want to make your Move The Worst Day Of our Life, They are Guaranteed To Please

I searched for months prior to our move and found out there are NO Moving Companies on this planet that are trust worthy. The only person you can trust is yourself. Its like choosing the lesser of two Evils. I contacted Colonial Van Lines, after drilling them with questions, They had all the answers. We did an inventory of all my stuff. They gave me a" Binding Estimate". This estimate said i needed $1080.00 Deposit and $900.00 upon delivery. Heres the good part, their Rep told me, with this estimate if they estimate low and my weight is over, they eat the difference. And if we come in under weight we only pay for the weight they haul. Sounded too good to be true, and it was. After giving them a deposit I received a call wanting to review my list of items. We found we forgot a Sofa, OK fair is fair. This one item cost me an additional $350.00. At this point I felt the tip of the dagger touching my back. I told them everything would be boxed and or wrapped, all they had to do was load and unload. By the way ask your phone "What a Binding Estimate is". The response you get will be very interesting. On moving day I was ready, they started loading boxes then the larger items. They tell you they will wrap your furniture in quilts at no charge. They don't tell you about all the tape and stretch wrap they use which they added to my bill at $77.00. All the dead rolls of tape and wrap ended up all over the floor for me to clean up. After loading I was told they have to finish the paper work. After sitting in the cab for about 30 minutes I was handed a highly itemized list. This list had little side notes such as Boxes were very heavy and other side notes. I also received a bill for the balance of the load which now is $1900.00. WTF is this, now they have my goods and just put a ransom on it. Once we arrived at our new home I received a letter from my old landlord, being told they forgot 2 tables for which I was charged for disposal. I called Colonial and was on the phone for 2 hours ripping them a new hole, telling them I will not pay their Ransom price, what happened to $900.00 I told them about if its over they eat it. They had no clue what I was saying. I did get them down to $1600.00. They arrived in about 2 days and just put my stuff where ever they pleased. BTW the owner of this fly by night outfit was in trouble for this same Business Practice.
