I should have read the customer reviews before buying a Trane A/C

Purchased a 3 1/2 ton XB16 Trane in August of 2014. My trouble started within the first week of operation and since then I have had to call the trained Trane Tech 6 more times with the last call being made in April of 2018. Here are some of the issues with this Trane product. 1) The unit shook violently when starting. Tech installed something to ease the start up of the unit. 2) The A/C started a horrible grinding noise that comes and goes. The Tech that installed the unit had no clue what caused this metal grinding noise. 3) Unit stopped working. Tech found the Contact points melted. No reason or rime for this. 4) Unit again stopped working. Tech was called and found the high and low pressure switch had failed. Had to make another trip the following day with the switch. 5) Tech came the following day and installed the pressure switch in the wrong place and wired it incorrectly. 6) Tech had to come back and reviewed the problem only to advise that he was not able to fix it since he was not familiar with the brand of heater in the attic. He insisted that I purchase a new heater instead. 7) Had another Company replace the blown transformer due to the incorrect wiring done by the original Company that installed the unit. I have brought this to the attention of the Trane Consumer Relations who after their diligence investigation stated that their product is not at fault an closed the file on my case #785198. I can only hope that potential consumers of Trane will study all consumer reviews and in order that they can make an intelligent buying decision.
