I have had the most unprofessional experience and treatment with AccessHealth CT
I tried to renew my health insurance plan in Nov. 2018 for the 2019 year. I gave all the needed information and thought my enrollment went through smoothly. I was enrolled in Jan. 2019 in the plan of my choice. In Feb. 2019 I was sent a letter that my insurance was cancelled due to failing the verification process. When I called AcessHealthCT to question why, I was told that the person entering the data put my annual income in the space where my monthly income should have been. However, no one seemed to be able to go in and fix that. I was completely without health insurance for three weeks. I had to start a brand new application while I still had no health insurance plan or coverage. I told HealthCT for my new application that I was claiming my daughter as a dependent but they entered me as having no dependents. that affected my cost sharing benefits and made me ineligible. Hence, another phone call to AcesshealthCT as my deductible went from $600/year to $4300/year and my insurance payments went way up. I have asked to speak with a supervisor three times and three times when on hold the line went dead. Yet, no one bothered to call me back even though you ask me for my phone number every single time I call. If I had any other choice I would not do business with a company that shows so much incompetence and takes no responsibility. I have been given completely erroneous information and I am tired of the next person I speak with having to apologize for the prior incorrect information. Your system is set up so a consumer cannot reach a person with decision making power when they need to.
