I'm am writing to complain about poor management and total un-professionalism experienced in Albany, Georgia. My daughter was hired to work at Cook Out 1104 Baker Ave, Albany, GA 31707 a month ago. To this day, she has worked a total of 10 hours. She was told to come back each time that she was scheduled to work for over 2 weeks. Once she finally started working, she was told to take a 2 hour break after working only 1 hour because management told her that it was slow..Keep in mind that there is currently a posting on Indeed.com stating that they are urgently hiring! My daughter is attends Albany State University and was seeking employment to earn income, but was only scheduled for 2 days a week. She was asked to work at 11 am on 26 December. She rushed back from her parent's home which is over 4 hours away only to get to Cook Out and be told after 30 minutes to go home and come back on 27 Dec. After arriving to work at 11 am on 27 December, she was once again told that she could leave after 30 minutes. The manager that was on shift at the time did not have the courage to tell her but rather asked another employee to tell her to leave. To be an established business, I find that this is unacceptable. After serving over 20 years in the military, I worked in restaurant management for a few years and I've never seen these types of practices. Why would a business advertise openings and then treat new associates so poorly? My daughter is totally disappointed after going through all of this foolishness and I'm just hoping that this is not an acceptable practice taught by corporate. I feel that the managers at that location need time management, leadership, and business operations training. My daughter is not the only one that this is happening to and I felt that this needed to be addressed. Feel free to reach out to me or my daughter is there are any questions that you may have. Thanks for taking the time to read this complaint and address this situation. These are the types of things that hurt a business, bad news travel a lot quicker than good news. I find it so hard to believe that as of today, my daughter still was not given a reason for the way she was treated nor was she ever given a real opportunity to learn other positions or work a complete shift.
