I have Multiple Myeloma and have been going through Chemo to prepare for a Bone Marrow transplant. When I was first diagnosed I had insurance through my employer. I went on social security in July ending my insurance through my employer . I have tried to get Humana to change my status so Tricare would be my primary insurance. I have called them 3 times about the status change and they are still denying my claims with the excuse that I have other insurance. I just received a notice from Humana saying they denied over $100,000 dollars in claims. The first time I contacted them was because they wanted me to change my specialty pharmacy that provides my Chemo meds. Then they refused to pay for them. I asked why and was told I had other insurance. Some how I convinced them that they were my only insurance and I got my meds. Then a month later I had to call them again for the same reason. Each time I was told that the change in status was being taken care of. Now I'm getting notices that they are refusing payments of my hospital bills again. I'm contacting them one more time and then I am contacting my State representative and a lawyer. Who ever decided that privatizing Tricare was a smart thing is a idiot. Or, maybe they aren't as in love with the military as they claim to be. In any case there is no way I can afford to pay out $100,000 a month. They have sentenced me to death for giving 20 years of my life to this country.
