Higher Bill’s and hidden fees
1
I told mediacom 2 years ago that I would have to drop my service because of their hidden rate increases that went beyond my budget. I was paying $80 per month for cable and internet but my bill slowly increased by $20 increments. 2 years ago I was paying $180 told them I couldn't afford that so I'd have to cancel my service. They said that if I signed a contract for 2 years my bill would be around $120. I agreed to it. Now today I just called again 1 month before my contract is up because my bill is up to $175 per month and they are charging me $10 per day for overages on internet. When I signed my contract I had the fastest internet available and didnt know anything about overages. No notices that I was over. Now they say I owe them $320 this month because of overages. They cant change my plan until that balance is covered. I'm pissed. My town is also under contract with Mediacom so I have no other cable option. They said that now I have the slowest internet they sell but my contract said I have the fastest. If I had known about the overage charge I would not have watched so much Netflix on my tv. Internet alone is the same price as internet/tv combo. I'm on a fixed income. When they add on all of these hidden fees I have to choose between paying my bill or living. Why cant they just have a fixed price? New members can get packages like mine for $80 per month but I'm paying double that. Doesn't make sense. If you do a class action suit please sign me up.
