Had me driving many weeks with dangrous broken safety device

Update by user Sep 03, 2019 PissedConsumer asked me to update this a month after it was posted, including if AAA reached out. The answer is NO, they sure did not. Not one word. Nothing going back MONTHS after I left a review elsewhere and they said to reach out to them to a particular "Reviews" e-mail address and they responded to that telling me that they were sending it up for review, and then NOTHING. Completely outrageous.By the way, this specifically was about AAA Fairfax Car Care Center in Fairfax, Va. which knowingly sent me on my way for WEEKS with a broken safety device that THEY broke, and refuse to do anything about it. Original review posted by user Aug 04, 2019 They did work on my car and I picked it up a couple days after they had completed it, I paid, and started driving home. After ten miles, I realized that my engine temperature gauge had not budged, and so I turned around and headed back--20 extra miles in all for this. No work that they had completed had anything to do with my engine temperature gauge/sensor. I had to sit in the waiting area that day for *two hours* before they told me that there was nothing they could do that day, and they sent me the 20 miles back home with an inoperable engine temperature gauge, which had worked when I had dropped the car off. (They had completed a full service check and the record shows that there was no issue with that.) I was to go back the next week for the replacement park, and it's a good thing that I called before I drove the 20 miles back there to make sure that all was set, because after I was on-hold for a few minutes, I was told that there was NO record of the status of this, and the person I'd been dealing with was out of the office for several days! Another visit, when they had the part that they'd ordered, they had me sign to pay for the part and service! For the part that THEY broke! (The part didn't wind up fitting, and so I was sent home, again, knowingly sending me home with a broken safety device.) It wasn't until I drove 80 additional miles back and forth--100 extra miles in all from beyond what was expected in my drive after I initially picked up my car--and nearly six and a half hours in extra driving time and waiting for them to look at and work on my car, before this was finally resolved. I requested compensation for the 100 miles that I needed to drive back and forth because of this issue and the nearly 6.5 hours, and I was offered check which I thought was reasonable. Except that they asked that I return again--an additional 40-mile round-trip--in order to sign a release. I wish that I had asked if they could e-mail it to me before I'd make that ridiculous round-trip, again. Upon signing it, it says that I release them from my making any potential claims against them in any way relating to any inspection or repairs provided to me up to that day. So if completely unrelated work that they completed falls apart, and perhaps even if it causes injury or worse, I'll have waived any right to any claims. Simply because I accepted some money back for my hundred (and forty) miles and 6.5 hours worth of trouble arising from their unrelatedly breaking my heat sensor, and sending me driving home without it working, and having me drive it for many weeks without offering a loaner until they'd be able to fix what they caused? I spoke to Jim about my concerns. He assured me that the warranty on that work would still be in effect. I told him--this LITERALLY says that I waive ANY claims having ANYTHING to do with ANY previous work that they completed. An attorney confirms my reading of that frankly plain language to that effect. I left this review elsewhere on month ago, and received a prompt public response from AAA asking me to e-mail their Reviews account to help resolve this. I did and they promptly told me that they forwarded my message. Over the last several weeks, I twice followed-up and I was told that they forwarded my correspondence on. What is this garbage? They cause a break to the device (which I don't necessarily blame them for--stuff happens), and then knowingly send me off driving with this dangerously broken safety device for weeks upon weeks, and then once I contact them later asking for compensation (I didn't specify anything in mind, I wanted to see what they would offer), they offered $100 for my troubles and I accepted, and they expect me to waive ALL rights if ANYTHING unrelated to that device breaks or causes harm to my car, me, or anyone else? And then they have the gall to suggest to me that they're bringing this up to an upper level to make this right but then weeks pass and no one contacts me to make this right? I am done with these games.
