Grizzly gone bad?

Update by user Nov 03, 2018 UPDATE: A little long for promised update but here it is: I ended up not buying from Grizzly. I was never able to get a definite availability date. After my review here I was finally contacted by Grizzly again and they said again about 3 weeks, however 3 weeks later it was again moved to be another 3 weeks out. So about 2-3 weeks later Grizz was still not able to confirm a shipping date for the item being in shipment to them. But they they said if I ordered now shipping to me would be 2 weeks. How could this be? From China I would think shipping time would be at at least 10-14 days plus some processing time on there end. All this via emails which they seemed slow to respond to and sometimes only after a second email. So I phoned and inquired without referring to previous information or emails and was told by the rep on the phone it would be a minimum of 5-6 weeks before they had the lathe in stock and that was only an estimate ... Adios bear! I spend about 25% more buying a different product ( Wiess ) and the lathe was shipped freight from CA and arrived at my door as expected within 2 weeks. Some accessories were on back order but I got those about 6 weeks later as promised. I am very happy with the lathe, and ultimately happy this happened as I think I got a much better product. The support and follow up from the company I purchased it through (DROPROS) has also been top notch! Original review posted by user May 04, 2018 I WAS having a fairly good experience with Grizzly in the process of considering a metal lathe, actually making a decision between two models. Customer service was quick to respond initially. Then I had some follow up questions and an issue with their web site. I wanted an update on the availability of an item on back order, about 2 weeks after initially being told it was about 5 weeks out, but not yet confirmed as shipped from the supplier. I was also having issues with the web site that they initially responded to and after following their suggestions the problem continued. Now it's going on 3 days with no further follow up from anyone at Grizzly with either of my issues/questions. I initially was going with Grizzly because of a reputation for good or better that average customer service on the type of equipment I am about to buy. (on several hobby forms) There are many others who sell the exact same item just painted another color and branded with a different name. I am trying again to get in touch with customer service as I know sometime things can go wrong due to the typical glitch, but if I still hear nothing but crickets I'll go and buy elsewhere. Either way I'll follow up on this review.
