Beware of the new BJs Restaurant that opened in Manchester, CT on July 22nd, 2019. Don't waste your money! The other restaurants in the area that we frequent on a regular basis don't have to worry about losing their loyal patrons. The macaroni and cheese tasted like Kraft out of the box with Cheese Whiz, the fish was over breaded, over cooked and saturated with grease as well as both the sweet potato and french fries and the Philly Beef cheese sandwich was on a cheap roll and had "no" taste. On a scale, I would rate the food a low 2 out of five. We called the manager over and he gave us a coupon for the next time for a "free" Pizookie with a minimum purchase of $9.95 on our next visit. Really...there won't be a next time, as the bill came to over $50.00 for two of us without alcoholic drinks added to the total. We wouldn't have minded the price, but the food was the equivalent of bad and cheap food from an old truck stop or bad cafeteria. They need to get some real cooks to prepare the food. The menu was extensive, but the food is bad! This is the first time I've ever wrote a comment about a business, but I felt bad about our experience and people are more cost conscious these days due to the high cost of living and deserve to get their money's worth for what they are buying. The restaurant should be named "The Revolving Door", as once you've been there and experience what we did, you won't want to go back. We were generous as we gave the "free" Pizookie coupon to an older couple when they were entering the restaurant, so if their meal was substandard like ours was, at least they had a "free" dessert.
