I applied for a generic IT job at gumtree, since I was getting desperate last year. Then a couple of days after, this woman called me and said she wants to interview me for a potential position. I arrived in my best suit. The office looked very impressive, at level 14 overlooking the Melbourne docklands side. Then, this woman took a copy of my printed resume and started saying that I didnt really stand out, and that my strengths are not highlighted enough. I thought she was just a highly-concerned HR, so I remained polite and explained my actual experiences once again. Then, she showed me video resume that was supposed to impress me, proudly saying, "Now what do you think of this compared with your bland resume that doesn't show anything?" She then asked me how many interviews I have gotten so far. I said, 4-5, and I was almost hired for a 100k analytics position. She said, "Oh, my applicant got that position. I helped him by using these video resume." Now, I began to feel that this is a scam, but I went along with it, and pretended I will sign the contract for their discounted price of $999. I said, I got to phone my partner first who was at work until 12nn! so she waited and we kept on talking. Finally, she said I should decide now as she cannot wait forever. I left her after an hour and drank some drinks from their lobby. ***! She said she could help me get an analytics position, and she had no idea what Analytics are.
