I came in for a fracture in my hand. We arrived at 4pm on a Saturday afternoon and were told at 11pm that evening that I have to stay over. My fiancé was with me during this process and we could unfortunately not make any arrangements for her stay somewhere else. With my fractured hand we stayed in the lobby with no place to sleep after a traumatic experience. And no assistance from the ward staff at all. Their reply was go and sleep in the lobby then. Bear in mind that I was forcefully kept in the hospital with the threats of you will waver all medical rights. My medical aid covered all expenses, but the surgeons etc still overcharged. This is unacceptable behavior from medical staff and I will not be happy with a mere reply I would like to have this matter attended to in proper correct manner.
