One new complaint just now: What I wrote in THIS box was just deleted by my going back to the previous box. Original complaint: I spent 90 minutes yesterday evening trying to get my Santander mobile app activated. I assumed the same user name + password that I used to get onto the website from my computer would work, but apparently they're different? So after a lot of difficulties navigating the system I changed my password but I was told I needed to receive a 1-time passcode to complete the procedure. But then I was told they didn't have a cell number for me and asked me to call customer service. Butsurprise!there's no 24-hour live representative. (WHY NOT????) So after all this time I still can't get my mobile app to work. Then when I tried to get onto the website I discovered I had to use my new password so I guess the systems aren't separate after all?? Complaint #1: Arcane software systems that are not user-friendly. Complaint #2: No 24 hour live customer service. That's simply not competitive in 2020. Complaint #3. ATM machines take so long, it's quicker to wait in line to make a deposit. Complaint #4: many ATM branches after hours are dirtier than punk-rock club bathrooms. I've been complaining to branch managers for 5 years about that to no avail. User's recommendation: Use TD North or Citibank. Santander management is somehow insulated from customer feedback. Dump their stock too.
