Fraustrating and confusing
why would I sign up for monitoring services if Equifax provided all my personal info to the bad guys later that year (2017). The whole process seems weird, and like they created a business to stop hackers because they (Equifax) provided them with all of our credit/personal information. How cool is that, company (Equifax) gives the info away and then they charge you to have your credited monitored. How about this, secure the information so that no once gets it and you can do this by making monitoring part of you everyday process. You know, don't charge someone for something you should be doing. Another suggestion work with the FTC and OIG to make a virtual ID that would be used for all online purchases where the actual cc can be provided. The virtual ID would need to have a home base, maybe tied to two other forms of state/federal sanctioned ID. Just a thought.
