fraudulent charge and deceitful business tactics
1
Tried to book a room in Oxford, MS one year ago for this past weekend. Googled hotel rooms in Oxford and unknown to me, I got on reservation desk.com. Completed reservation and charged hotel price listed and service fee. When I received my confirmation email, reservationdesk.com booked a room in Oxford, Alabama. There were no rooms available in Oxford, MS due to graduation weekend for Ole Miss. After several phone calls, the actual hotel in Oxford, AL assisted with getting my reservation cancelled but I still had to pay reservationdesk.com's service fee. Forward 11 months later, I received an email confirming my hotel rooms from reservation desk for hotel that was cancelled last June. Another phone call to reservation desk and told the reservation was cancelled. Well today Reservation desk charged my credit card for the reservation cancelled, without my authorization, and included another service fee. I did speak to a customer service person today and they assured me that amount of charge would be credited to my credit card. This is fraudulent and probably criminal conduct. Thank goodness for American Express who assured me the amount charged to my account without my permission will be investigated.
