In an indictment, Hutchinson allegedly defrauded private investors who loaned money to him when he was a banking regulator. However, Hutchinson allegedly misled investors by lying about how much debt was already secured by the banks, falsely promising to record bank instruments that would have secured investors' interests in the assets, telling others to impersonate lenders or banking officers in phone calls and forging letters purportedly written by lenders and company officers. Hutchinson has apperantly fled his offices in Sonoma.
