Fradulent business practices, overly burdensome contractual requirements

1

It appears that your company is trying to employ fraudulent practices, appropriately know as bait and switch. I have no intention of signing any contract to further an obligation to your company, via electronic signature or otherwise, especially not one for an additional 60-month commitment. The verbal offer that we spoke about on the phone was for me to continue with the 12-month automatic renewal term at $29.99 per month and receive a credit for 5 months, which would end my contract with your company as of 1/6/2019. It is therefore incomprehensible to me that you would think me gullible enough to sign another contract with you (which you label as an Addendum) to sign up for another 60-month term (which was put in the smallest font possible). I have fulfilled the terms of my initial contract paying 36 months x $49.99 = $1,799.64. I have informed your company of my intention to cancel this agreement nine months prior to its termination approximately on March 1st, 2017. When I called your employee failed to inform me at that time that there was a requirement to put my request in writing. The time frame of this interaction should be document on my account in your records, as your employee also sent out a replacement battery for my security system user interface around that same time. Additionally, there was a failure to inform me that the notification was to be given 60 days prior to the contract expiration date of 1/6/2018. There seems to be a concerted effort on the part of employees of your company to withhold notification to your customers of your lengthy and overly burdensome contractual requirements, and to give the appropriate information at the appropriate time. Moreover, I am concerned that, at this point I have interacted with 3 different employees over the past 12 months and in each situation information has been withheld, given inaccurately or misrepresented. When I called on January 16th, the employee who spoke with me tried to keep my business by reducing the monthly cost from the existing rate of $49.99 per month to $39.99 per month. I informed him that my intention was still to cancel the contract. I was then informed by your employee that there is a written requirement to cancel the contract. I have since met that requirement by sending a letter to your company to this effect. Your employee at that time, agreed to cancel the contract upon receipt of my letter. Based on previous attempts to misinform me, your employee's agreement to cancel my service, my repeated communication to your company of my desire to terminate this contract, and the drafting from my bank of the final payment of my 36-month contract, it is my contention that I should have no further obligation to pay for your services past January 24th, 2018, the date that my letter was received by your company.
